FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is included if I have pool tile cleaning done?
- Repair Broken or Missing Tile
- Regrout all Tile Areas ~ (this prevents water penetration to backside of tile and coping AND Enhances the Pool !)
- Seal Tile ~ (this beautifies tile and protects it)
- Clean Pool ~(we use OUR equipment to vacuum up excess materials. The debris NEVER goes through YOUR equipment.)
- Hose Down Deck and Clean up
Will the process hurt my tile, pool equipment, or pets?
The process is 100% Biodegradable. It does not harm the tile glaze. We use OUR equipment to clean the debris out of your pool so nothing will go through YOUR equipment. Lastly, nothing is left behind for a pet to ingest, unlike glass beading.
Could my pool tech have prevented scale on my tile?
NO, scale is a naturally occurring process. It can be slowed by proper water chemistry.
What is water chemistry?
A perfect balance of chemicals in pool water that will provide a SAFE swimming environment and sparkling pool. A sparkling pool is CHEMISTRY not guess work.
If Pool Tech services my pool regularly, is it ok for me to add chemicals too?
NO!... A sparkling pool is CHEMISTRY not guess work.
A properly trained technician will keep the water balanced with a variety of chemicals. Adding something "extra" can reverse what is trying to be achieved.
Do I need to do anything to my pool if I have a pool tech come every week?
YES!...
- Check skimmer baskets and empty when needed. ~ A full skimmer basket will impair filtration and can ruin equipment.
- Make sure enough water is in the pool. ~ It should be able to drain into the skimmer. Letting the water get below the skimmer can ruin your equipment. In the hot summer months you may need to fill a few times a week.
Automatic Fill Valves can be installed to do the filling for you.
Why does my pool still have algae if my tech treated a pretty bad algae bloom, last week?
If a pool becomes unbalanced it may take a few weeks to correct the problem. If the offenders are high temps, monsoon rains and high winds dumping organic matter into the pool, it may take longer. Unfortunately, if the offender is a lovely tree hanging over the pool (all it takes is one) you may have this problem re-occur until the tree is trimmed back considerably or gone.
My kids love the pool, unfortunately they don't always get out to "tinkle", is that bad?
YES! Just one "tinkle" can DEPLETE CHLORINE in the pool. It just takes a few hours to have a zero chlorine reading!! Super chlorinating the pool will sanitize the bacteria, BUT the urine will break down as total dissolved solids (TDS) and does not leave the pool. Once the TDS reach their breaking point the pool must be drained.
What are "Total Dissolved Solids"?
Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) are the measure of all solids dissolved in a sample of water. What does that mean? Perspiration, hair gel, hair spray, urine, deodorant, lotions, feces, barf, makeup, organic matter, detergents, material hosed into the pool from the deck, sluffing skin cells, dirt, pet hair (you get the point) NEVER leave the pool. Chemicals are used to make the pool a safe place to swim, but at some point, if the TDS's get too high, the pool will need to be drained. This should be done on an average every 3-5 years depending on pool usage.
Is it safe to have my pool drained?
YES, POOL PRO'S will drain the pool . When the pool is refilled all chemicals needed to balance water will be added and pool will be cleaned. Equipment will be checked to make sure pool is up and running. This takes two days.
